NASHVILLE, TN -- The Calgary Flames three-game win streak was cut short on Tuesday evening as they fell 2-1 to the Nashville Predators.

Miikka Kiprusoff put in one of his best performances of the season, stopping 43 of 45 shots.

Two of his best saves of the night came in the first stanza. His right pad stops on David Legwand and Martin Erat will be all over every highlight reel as he stoned them on what looked like sure-fire goals.

The Flames didn't come out with the start they would have hoped for, only landing six shots on net while allowing 18 to be sent at Kiprusoff.

Predators forward Matt Halischuk opened the scoring at 11:43 of the first frame. His persistance at the side of the net paid off as he was able backhand the puck over Kiprusoff after Brian McGrattan was able to get it to the net.

Calgary came out with a better effort in the second period and were able to notch the equalizer.

Curtis Glencross weaved through the defence and roofed a backhander past Rinne.

Defenceman Derek Smith picked up the lone assist, pushing him to six points in 24 games this year.

The Predators regained the lead with what would be the game-winning goal early in the third period.

Brendan Morrison was handed an interference call at 3:01 and just thirty seconds later, Nashville found themselves ahead. Colin Wilson was able to capitalize on a Craig Smith rebound, knocking it over Kiprusoff's pad.

The Flames poured on the pressure late in the period, hemming the Predators in their own zone for close to a minute and generating several quality scoring opportunities, but Rinne held his team in and carried them to victory.
