ST. PAUL, MN -- Calgary Flames head coach Brent Sutter's line shuffling gave the squad the offence boost he was hoping it would on Sunday night as his club defeated the Minnesota Wild by a score of 5-2.

The Flames had 11 players contribute offensively and all four lines chipped in with points.

However, the game didn't start the way Calgary would have liked.

Blueliner Mark Giordano took a high-sticking minor just 28 seconds into the game and the Wild made the Flames pay for the infraction.

Cal Clutterbuck was left all alone at the side of the net and Mikko Koivu was able to dish him the puck. He deked around Miikka Kiprusoff and deposited his sixth goal of the season.

Dany Heatley also assisted on the opening goal.

The Flames answered back with two goals in quick succession.

Giordano was able to power around Pierre-Marc Bouchard and took a sharp angled shot from the red line. It somehow trickled underneath Backstrom.

Just 2:17 later, Lee Stempniak dashed around Marco Scandella and sent a shot top-shelf on the netminder.

Nick Johnson then tied it up for the home team when he was able to snap one past Kiprusoff. The netminder was screened by Scott Hannan's takedown of Darroll Powe, making it impossible to stop the puck.

The Flames ended the opening stanza ahead by a goal thanks to TJ Brodie's first NHL tally. The rookie whizzed by Johnson and beat Backstrom five hole. Matt Stajan and Tim Jackman earned the assists on the goal.

Calgary went ahead by two early in the third period when Harding played the puck right to Alex Tanguay. The winger sent the puck towards the net from the corner and Harding couldn't get back into position in time to stop the shot.

Jarome Iginla added the Flames fifth goal of the night when he was able to overpower Justin Falk in front of the net and bat in a pass from Curtis Glencross. Olli Jokinen also assisted on the goal.
