CALGARY, Alberta (AP) _ Nashville coach Barry Trotz didn't try to put a positive spin on the Predators' loss.

Shean Donovan and Matthew Lombardi each scored twice and Roman Turek made 23 saves for his 25th career shutout in the Calgary Flames' 4-0 victory over Nashville on Thursday night.

``They beat us on special teams, the power play, penalty killing, they beat us five-on-five, and they beat us in net,'' Trotz said. ``You're not going to win too many games when a team beats you in all those areas.''

Turek, making his fourth start in a row after missing three months because of a knee injury, improved to 2-4-0 this season with his fifth career shutout against the Predators.

``A huge game for us,'' Turek said. ``We were talking about how important this game was and everyone was ready to go right from the opening minute.''

Donovan, who had just one goal in his previous 19 games, broke out of a slump with his 14th and 15th of the season. His drought followed a stretch of 10 goals in eight games.

``Tonight was a huge effort from everyone, we had all four lines firing and it was really great to see,'' Donovan said. ``This was a huge test because games from here on in are huge.''

Chris Clark and Steven Reinprecht each added two assists to help the Flames move a point ahead of Nashville for sixth place in the Western Conference.

Jarome Iginla, still nursing a sore ankle, returned to the lineup. He didn't score, but drew an ovation from the crowd of 16,629 when he fought Jordin Tootoo late in the game after the Predators' rookie bowled over Dean McAmmond. Iginla was cut near his right eye in the fight.

``That's my first fight where before I've even dropped my gloves, I'm getting popped,'' Iginla said. ``He's a young guy. Most guys that fight you have the respect to wait until the other guy's ready but that's the first one that I've been through like that and I'll be ready the next time.''

Calgary snapped Nashville's seven-game unbeaten streak, and dropped the Predators to 1-6-2-1 in their last 10 road games.

Lombardi and Donovan scored power-play goals four minutes apart in the first period. Donovan made it 3-0 early in the second with his third short-handed goal of the season, and Lombardi added his 11th goal midway through the period.

``This was a great game for us,'' Iginla said. ``We realize it was like a playoff game. This was a game where everyone stepped up in the room. Donovan's line was flying, Lombardi had some big goals, Roman played great. Everybody was ready for this game and hopefully we can keep it going.''
