ST. PAUL, MN -- Jarome Iginla scored early and set up Curtis Glencross' go-ahead goal late with a botched shot that became a pass, and the Calgary Flames hung on to beat the Minnesota Wild 4-3 on Sunday for their third straight victory.

Glencross has a goal in seven straight games for the Flames, who moved into a tie for eighth place with the Colorado Avalanche in the Western Conference with 76 points. They're 4-1-1 in six games this month, and Iginla has six goals and five assists in that span.

Sven Baertschi scored his first career goal to put the Flames up 2-0 early in the third period, but Erik Christensen scored twice for the Wild in less than 2 1/2 minutes to tie it.

But Iginla's latest assist was the kind that only comes when a team is playing well. Winding up for a slap shot in the slot with the game tied at 2 midway through the third period, Iginla tripped. His stick hit the ice instead of the puck as he fell forward, but it was lined up just right to make enough contact and send an accidental pass to Glencross at the edge of the right circle. He knocked it in for the lead, and Olli Jokinen gave the Flames another goal with 5:18 remaining in the game.

They needed that, because Devin Setoguchi plucked a puck loose puck away from goalie Miikka Kiprusoff's reach and flipped it in for the Wild with 1:04 left.

The shots were 17-6 at one point in the second period in favor of the Flames, but the depleted Wild outshot them 21-8 the rest of the way. Christensen's first goal bounced off Anton Babchuk's stick. His second one prompted Flames coach Brent Sutter to call timeout.

Acquired in a Feb. 2 trade with the New York Rangers, Christensen scored for the first time in 16 games with the Wild. His last goal was Nov. 5.

Rookie Matt Hackett was in goal for the Wild, with Niklas Backstrom out and Josh Harding dressed but on the bench, both with lower-body injuries. Alex Tanguay tempted Hackett to come way out of the crease and sent a drop pass from the near edge of the left faceoff circle to the slot for Iginla, who knocked the puck in the uncovered net like he was going through pregame warmups.

As his linemates approached him to celebrate the goal, Iginla had one of those that-was-too-easy smiles on his face. In 33 games at Minnesota's Xcel Energy Center, Iginla has scored 17 times. With 35 career goals against the Wild, he's by far the leading opponent scorer over the franchise's 11 seasons.

STAT OF THE NIGHT
It didn't take Sven Baertschi long to make an impact as he pounced on a rebound to register his first NHL goal in only his second NHL game.

Baertschi would finish the contest with 16 shifts and 10:41 of ice time. He also recorded 3 shots and 1 hit.
