CALGARY, AB -- Despite being outshot 38-14 by the New Jersey Devils, the Calgary Flames won their seventh consecutive game at the Scotiabank Saddledome by a score of 6-3.

Jay Bouwmeester opened the scoring at 5:54 when his shot from the blueline eluded Martin Brodeur. Jarome Iginla, fresh off scoring his 500th career marker, and Chris Butler notched the assists on Bouwmeester's second goal of the season.

The Flames got another contribution from the blueline just under two minutes later when Cory Sarich broke a 49-game scoring drought with his first of the season.

Mikael Backlund and Lee Stempniak earned the helpers on Sarich's first marker since Dec. 7, 2010.

That goal ended the veteran netminder's night and Johan Hedberg took over.

Calgary kept the pressure on and Glencross was able to pot his 18th of the year thanks to an excellent pass from Olli Jokinen.

Taking a chip pass from Iginla, Jokinen was able to slip the puck over to Glencross as the duo steamed towards the net and the winger was able to bounce his shot off Hedberg's pad and into the net.

The Flames capped off the first frame with a power play goal from TJ Brodie at 16:38. The youngster took a slap shot from just outside the faceoff circle that beat Hedberg far side. Bouwmeester and Glencross recorded their second points of the night as they assisted.

The Devils scored twice in the second period as Ilya Kovalchuk and Adam Henrique found ways to beat Kiprusoff but the Flames added their fifth goal of the evening in the frame.

Stempniak's wrister from the slot squeaked past Hedberg at 16:38, giving the forward his first goal since Dec. 8, 2011. Glencross and Backlund were awarded the assists, giving them their third and second points of the night respectively.

Patrik Elias cut the Flames lead to two goals in the third period but Iginla answered back with Calgary's sixth marker. Jokinen fed him the puck from behind the net and the captain was able to whack it through for his 17th of the campaign.

Desperate to claw themselves back into the game, the Devils pulled their goaltender with over five minutes left in the third period. The move was spurred on by Sarich taking a hooking call at 13:27 but the move proved fruitless as they couldn't find a way to put anything else past Kiprusoff.
STAT OF THE NIGHT
Nine Flames recorded points in the Flames victory on Tuesday night and six players had multi-point outings. Glencross led the charge in that regard, posting four points (one goal, three assists) while his linemate Iginla trailed behind him with three points (one goal, two assists).
