CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames closed out their three-game homestand in fine fashion as they handed the Edmonton Oilers a 3-0 loss on Saturday night.

Miikka Kiprusoff made 21 saves and Jarome Iginla scored two goals in the victory.

"Our whole game as a group is getting better," said Iginla.

"Our confidence is growing, we're moving the puck better, we've got more puck possession, and we're skating better. And our goaltending's been outstanding all season."

The first period was a scoreless affair with the shots sitting at 11-6 in Calgary's favour.

Kiprusoff made one his best saves this season with 2:21 remaining in the frame.

The netminder ended up kicking a dump-in right on to the stick of Ryan Jones and the left winger wasted no time in firing a shot on net. With Kiprusoff out of positon, it looked like Jones had an easy goal but the Finn scooped up the wrister with his glove.

The Flames broke the deadlock at 13:45 when Tom Kostopoulos scored with a second left in a Sam Gagner minor.

He knocked a Derek Smith shot from the blueline over Devan Dubnyk, potting his third goal of the year. Matt Stajan's faceoff win earned him the second assist on the tally.

"We knew they only had four men for five seconds so we wanted to set up a quick shot," Kostopoulos said. "The clean win off the faceoff was huge by Stajan and Smitty just having the presence of mind to put it at the net quick so maybe we could get a 2-on-1 in front and the puck was just lying there."

The Flames now have four power play goals in their last three games.

Iginla added the second goal of the night after a tic-tac-toe passing play between himself, Brendan Morrison and Jay Bouwmeester. The captain's one-timer flew over Dubnyk's shoulder at 19:44 of the second period, pushing the winger to 10 goals on the year.

The winger scored his second of night at 19:40 of the final frame. Olli Jokinen had the lone assist on the empty net goal.
