VANCOUVER, BC -- A third period scoring blitz by the Vancouver Canucks halted the Flames four-game streak as Calgary fell 5-1 to their divisional foes.

David Booth, Jannik Hansen and Daniel Sedin all found the back of the net in the third frame while the Flames were held scoreless through the final two periods.

Henrik Karlsson started in net for the Flames, stopping 27 of 32 shots, but was injured in a third period collision with teammate Tom Kostopoulos.

Miikka Kipruoff took over for Karlsson, stopping the four shots he faced in his 13:21 of ice time.

Alex Tanguay got the Flames on the board at 18:34 of the first period when his bad-angle shot from behind the net squeaked through Luongo's pads.

Roman Horak and Rene Bourque assisted on the game's opening goal. The rookie now has points in two straight games while Bourque has points in his last three outings.

The Flames penalty killing streak ended at 19 when Kevin Bieksa's point was deflected by a Calgary stick, sending the puck off the post and past Karlsson.

The power play marker came at 5:13 of the second period with the helpers going to former Flame Chris Higgins and Booth.

Higgins added the Canucks second goal of the evening with a backhander from the slot. Karlsson had a crowd in front of him, completely blocking from seeing the shot until it was past him.

The third period started in disatrous fashion for the Flames as Booth and Hansen scored in the opening two minutes, and didn't get any better as time rolled on.

Bourque took a cross-checking call at 5:14 and D. Sedin was able to extend his point streak against the Flames to 15 games when he sent a shot over Karlsson's shoulder, making it a 5-1 affair for Vancouver.

Frustration boiled over late in the game when Matt Stajan dropped the mitts with Maxim Lapierre. The two were handed five minute majors for fighting and 10 minute misconducts.
