The Masters is the Calgary Flames Alumni Association's annual charity golf tournament. It's the premiere charity golf tournament in Calgary in terms of fundraising capability, return to sponsors, value and prestige.
The golf tournament returns to Heritage Pointe on Thursday, May 28th, 2015 and the Masters Reception will be held on Wednesday, May 27th, 2015 at Gasoline Alley in Heritage Park.
The tournament was founded in 1995 by Eddie Wong and former Flames captain Jim Peplinski.
This year’s Flames Alumni Masters Golf Tournament is in support of Calgary Cerebral Palsy Kids and Families.
When a child is diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, it can be overwhelm-ing for parents who may not know what to do next and may struggle to access the support they require. Cerebral Palsy Kids and Families bridges this gap by providing support programs that empower and educate parents, ensuring they have the awareness, tools and resources to enrich their children’s lives.
Proceeds of the 2015 Flames Alumni Masters Golf Tournament will directly support the organization’s nationally recognized adapted bike clinic, which custom-fits bikes for kids with physical challenges and helps all children experience the simple joy of riding a bike. .
Flames and NHL alumni continue to be actively involved in the community with many initiatives including the Alumni Masters Golf Tournament.
