Hunter Smith: What Scouts Say
See what scouting services are saying about Hunter Smith

INTERNATIONAL SCOUTING SERVICES

Big developing power forward with good size and jam to his game. Drives to the net hard and is a threat to score points in the danger areas due to his combination of size and strength. The Oshawa General power forward has shown good hands for a big man and although his skating is not where it needs to be, ISS scouts see potential to improve as he matures and develops. The big body forward really knows how to use his size and strength at this level. He also brings an element of intimidation to his game.

NHL Potential: 6-9 forward who can play on the power play

Style Compares To: Shawn Thornton

NHL CENTRAL SCOUTING

"He's made himself into a player. He came into the league as a role-type of player and worked hard to develop his skill set. He's one of the toughest guys in the Ontario Hockey League, but complements that with good puck-handling and passing ability. Big guys who are tough and skilled are very valuable in the NHL." - Chris Edwards
