FLAMES FUTURE WATCH UPDATE


Eric Roy and the Brandon Wheat Kings have advanced to the second round of the WHL Playoffs. They will face the Edmonton Oil Kings in the next round. Roy was selected by the Flames in the fifth round (135th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft.

Morgan Klimchuk and the Regina Pats were ousted in the first round of the playoffs by the Brandon Wheat Kings. Klimchuk signed a three-year entry level with the Flames earlier in the season.

Coda Gordon and the Swift Current Broncos were bounced from the playoffs by the Medicine Hat Tigers this past week. Gordon was the Flames sixth round pick in the 2012 NHL Draft.

Brett Kulak has been assigned to the Abbotsford Heat as the Vancouver Giants fell to the Portland Winterhawks in the first round of the playoffs. Kulak was the Flames fourth round pick in 2012.

Johnny Gaudreau and the Boston College are headed to the Frozen Four after they downed Lowell on Sunday. The winger leads the nation in scoring with 77 points through 39 games. Gaudreau was the Flames fourth round pick in the 2011 NHL Draft.

Bill Arnold is off to the Frozen Four with the Eagles after Boston College picked up a 4-3 win over Lowell on Sunday. The senior is third in team scoring with 52 points on the year. The Flames selected the centre in the fourth round of the 2010 NHL Draft.
