Heat down Admirals in Milwaukee
Max Reinhart scored the game-winner for the Heat in the third period
The netminder stopped 34 of 36 shots in Friday's 4-2 win over the Milwaukee Admirals and now has a 4-1-0 record with the Abbotsford Heat. Five games into his tenure with the Heat, his GAA sits at 2.61 and his save percentage rests at .925.
Roy was immediately under siege in Milwaukee with the Admirals firing 20 shots on him in the first period alone. He was able to stop 19 of them as Vinny Saponari was able to sneak a shot past him when he was screened. Sven Baertschi, who has amassed six points in eight games this month, opened the scoring at 1:00 mark.
The Admirals briefly took the lead in the second period when Taylor Beck's shot evaded Roy but Ben Street responded shortly after with his 21st goal of the year.
Max Reinhart scored the game-winner at 12:03 of the third period after he was able to convert on an excellent pass from Markus Granlund. Brett Olson added the empty-netter to ice the victory for the Heat.
The Heat are back in action on Saturday when they face the Chicago Wolves in the first of a two-game set.
