Gaudreau, Arnold capture Beanpot championship with Boston College
Boston College picked up their fifth straight Beanpot championship on Monday
CALGARY, AB -- Boston College downed Northeastern 4-1 on Monday, capturing their fifth straight Beanpot championship and, as per usual, Calgary Flames prospects Johnny Gaudreau and Bill Arnold played a large part in the victory.
Gaudreau, who extended his point streak to an incredible 24 games, scored one goal and assisted on Kevin Hayes opening tally in the first period. The Flames 2011 fourth round draft pick leads the nation in scoring with 25 goals and 58 points through 29 games.
Arnold also assisted on Hayes' goal, pushing him to 42 points on the year. The Flames fourth round pick in 2010 is fourth in scoring in the NCAA and his 31 assists is third amongst all skaters in the nation. The senior now has won four Beanpot championships.
The pair play on Boston College's top line with Kevin Hayes and the trio have been absolutely lights out for the Eagles in recent weeks. They have combined for 84 points (30 goals, 54 assists) in their last 15 games and Boston College is 14-0-1 when the line hits the ice.
