ROCKFORD, IL -- The Abbotsford Heat came back from a 3-1 deficit in the third period in Rockford and downed the IceHogs 4-3 in overtime.

Markus Granlund scored the game-winner on the power play at the 3:40 mark of overtime. Chad Billins, who recorded three points in the victory, and Max Reinhart assisted on Granlund's 15th goal of the season.

IceHogs forwards Brad Winchester and Garret Ross gave the home team a 2-0 lead through the opening 20:00, beating Joey MacDonald at the 6:36 and 17:35 marks. Heat defenceman Mark Cundari was able to pull Abbotsford within a goal early in the second period but Rockford responded with a power play goal from Brandon Mashinter to close out the middle frame.

Evan Trupp, who was recently loaned to the Heat from the Alaska Aces (ECHL) scored his first AHL goal early in the third period to make it a one-goal game once again and Billins notched the equalizer at 13:56.

Joey MacDonald made 32 saves in the win and is now 5-6-1 on the year.

The Heat close out their six-game road trip with a pair of games against the Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday and Saturday.
