ANCHORAGE, AK -- The Alaska Aces announced in conjunction with the ECHL that Olivier Roy has been named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Dec. 2-8.

Roy, 22, has earned the award for the third time in his career and went 2-1-0 in three games at Utah last week with back-to-back shutouts, a 0.65 goals against average and .976 save percentage.

The native of Causapscal, Quebec made 32 saves to match his season high in a 2-0 loss to the Grizzlies on Wednesday. He ended the week with two straight shutouts - stopping 26 shots in a 1-0 shootout win on Friday (including four saves on four shots in the shootout) and turning aside 24 shots in a 3-0 victory on Saturday, earning victories against Utah goaltenders Igor Bobkov and Ben Meisner.

Under a National Hockey League contract with the Calgary Flames, Roy is 3-4-0 with two shutouts in seven appearances with Alaska this season, and is tied for third in the ECHL with a 1.85 goals-against average while ranking seventh with a .934 save percentage. He has also appeared in four games with Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League this season where he is 2-2-0.

Selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the fifth round (133rd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Roy was acquired by the Flames along with defenceman Ladislav Smid from the Edmonton Oilers on Nov. 8, in exchange for goaltender Laurent Brossoit and forward Roman Horak.

Roy has appeared in 56 career ECHL games with Stockton and Alaska with an overall record of 26-24-5 with seven shutouts, a 2.20 goals-against average and a save percentage of .932. He has also played in 32 career AHL games with Oklahoma City and Springfield.

Roy is the second Aces goaltender to earn the ECHL Goaltender of the Week award. It is the first time since 2011-12 that multiple Aces goaltenders took the award.
