CALGARY FLAMES @ OTTAWA SENATORS - 7:00 PM START -SASKATOON, SK

FINAL: 4-2 Senators. Shots were 35-35 between the two squads.

3RD PERIOD: 4-2 Senators

Notable save with 18:28 remaining: Berra throws his stick out to knock the puck away from Robinson. The Senator forward had come in on a two-on-one with Conacher.

Flames penalty with 17:29 remaining: D. Jones runs into Andrew Hammond, who has taken over in the Ottawa net, and is called for goaltender interference.

SENATORS GOAL: With 12:40 remaining in regulation, Borowiecki's shot from the blueline evades Berra. Right before the goal, the netminder had made a great save on Clarke MacArthur on a breakaway. The assist on the tally goes to Mike Hoffman.

FLAMES GOAL: With 11:27 remaining in the third period, D. Jones gets the Flames on the board. Helpers go to Butler and Tyler Wotherspoon.

SENATORS GOAL: MacArthur sends a howitzer past Berra to make it 4-1 Ottawa with 6:39 remaining in regulation. Kyle Turris picks up the assist on the Senators fourth goal.

Flames penalty with 5:07 remaining: O'Brien is off for roughing.

FLAMES GOAL: With 4:12 remaining, Corban Knight makes it a 4-2 game with a short-handed tally. He batted a Mark Cundari pass in from close range.

2ND PERIOD: 2-0 Senators

SENATORS GOAL: With 18:42 remaining in the frame, Cory Conacher's wrist shot from below the hashmarks slips past Berra to make it 2-0 Ottawa. Assists go to Stephane Da Costa and Rutkowski.

Flames penalty with 14:39 remaining: Brian McGrattan levels Sdao in a spirited scrap, leaving the Ottawa blueliner bloodied. McGrattan received 2:00 for instigating, 5:00 for fighting and a 10:00 misconduct.

Senators penalty with 13:35 remaining: Conacher gets called for unsportsmanlike conduct after a shoving match in front of the Ottawa net.

Flames penalty with 11:27 remaining: Stajan is whistled down for interference.

Senators penalty with 11:11 remaining: Darren Kramer is nabbed for slashing.

Flames penalty with 10:34 remaining: Shane O'Brien and Mark Borowiecki get tangled up in the Senators zone and decide to scrap. O'Brien received a minor for instigating.

Flames penalty with 9:24 remaining: TJ Brodie trips off Da Costa along the boards in the Flames zone and heads to the sin bin.

Flames penalty with 5:57 remaining: Mark Cundari hops onto the ice too quickly and the Flames are called for too-many-men-on-the-ice.

Flames penalty 5:28 remaining: Chris Butler levels a Senator and gets called for roughing.

END OF PERIOD: Ottawa has a 2-0 lead over Calgary through 40:00 of play. Conacher scored the lone goal of the second stanza. Shots sit at 21-18 in Ottawa's favour.

1ST PERIOD: 1-0 Senators

Flames penalty with 18:11 remaining: Matt Stajan is whistled down for interference so the Senators get the game's first power play.

Senators penalty with 16:58 remaining: Troy Rutkowski holds up Corban Knight, who was streaking into the Senators zone, so there is 37 seconds of 4-on-4 hockey before the Flames go to the power play.

Flames penalty with 8:55 remaining: David Jones gets the gate for tripping up a Senator.

Senators penalty with 4:43 remaining: Rutkowski gets 4:00 for high-sticking Knight in front of the net as the Flames forward whacked away at a loose puck.

SENATORS GOAL: With 3:11 remaining in the opening period, Buddy Robinson slips into the Flames zone and wires a shot from above the hashmarks, beating Berra high blocker side for a short-handed goal. David Dziurzynski picked up the lone assist. 1-0 Senators.

Flames penalty with 1:38 remaining: After Michael Sdao threw a hard hit on David Jones, Matt Stajan jumped right in to defend his new teammate. He scrapped with Sdao and got the extra 2:00 for roughing.

END OF PERIOD: The Senators have a 1-0 lead over the Flames thanks to Robinson's short-handed tally. Shots are 12-8 for the Flames.
