Poirier builds off strong pre-season game, scores in intra-squad match-up

CALGARY, AB -- Just over 14 hours after netting the Calgary Flames first pre-season goal of the 2013-14 season, Emile Poirier was back at in an intra-squad game at training camp, scoring a huge goal for Team White in their 2-1 win over Team Black on Sunday morning.

Taking up residence at the side of Team Black's net, Poirier deflected Ben Hanowski's wrister to even things up between the two sides at one apiece. Team Black centre Ben Street had opened the scoring earlier in the game.

Corban Knight scored the winner late in the game when he was able to bat in a pass from Markus Granlund, who dished the puck to Knight from behind the net.

The Flames played just one intra-squad game on Sunday due to injuries. Several players sat out of the match-up with minor maladies.

Half of the training camp roster will travel to Saskatoon, SK on Sunday evening in preparation for two pre-season tilts in Saskatchewan. The non-traveling portion of the roster will practice at WinSport (Joan Snyder Arena) at 10:00 AM on Monday.

Training camp roster cuts will likely come after Tuesday's split squad games (Flames vs. the Islanders in Regina, SK and in Calgary, AB).
