Magic Miikka, Remembered
Miikka Kiprusoff is remembered by fans and teammates on his retirement
On Monday, the Flames made Kipper's retirement official. Many of those who knew Miikka -- and more who didn't -- took to Twitter to remember the longtime backbone of the Calgary organization.
Flames legend Theo Fleury was one of the first to sound off on the goaltending legend's decision to retire:
Congrats to Mikka on a great career. Good luck in retirement. Flames fans will miss you. pic.twitter.com/tZ5h6Lyehw— Theo Fleury (@TheoFleury14) September 9, 2013
Then it was the AHL's turn to get in on the action. The League tweeted a photo of Kiprusoff at the 2011 AHL All-Star Game. Kiprusoff played in one NHL All-Star Game, in 2007 in Dallas.

Kipper fave moments: 1. Fighting vokoun 2. Scorpion save 3. Pretty much being an emotionless save robot. #beauty— Joel McDonald (@JoelMcDonald1) September 9, 2013

Here's what the fans had to say. Not surprisingly, there were more than a few references to the scorpion save, Kiprusoff's signature move in which he kicks his legs behind him to save a shot heading for the net over his sprawled body.
