Draft eligible Bauer signs with Edmonton Oil Kings

CALGARY, AB -- 2014 NHL Draft eligible forward Lane Bauer has signed with the Edmonton Oil Kings (WHL).

The 17 year-old spent the 2012-13 season with the Alaska Jr. Aces (Midget 18AAA), scoring 34 goals and 49 points in 29 games.

"Lane’s player on our list for a couple years, and we’re very happy that he decided to come to the Oil Kings," said Edmonton general manager Randy Hansch said in a press release. "Lane’s a honest, hard-working two-way player that can produce some offensive numbers and competes any time he’s on the ice."

Prior to the signing, the Anchorage, AK native was committed to the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
