Sportsnet announces 2013-14 Flames broadcast schedule
CALGARY, AB -- Sportsnet has announced its 2013-14 Calgary Flames regional broadcast schedule, featuring 60 regular season games on television and all 82 games on radio. Radio coverage kicks off with the season opener versus the Washington Capitals on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 5 PM MT on Sportsnet 960 The FAN, while the first telecast airs Friday, Oct. 4 at 5 PM MT on Sportsnet West when the Flames visit the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Forty-five of Sportsnet’s regular season Flames games will air on Sportsnet West, while 15 will air on the Sportsnet ONE companion channel, Sportsnet Flames. All TV broadcasts will feature play-by-play announcer Rob Kerr, former NHLer and analyst Charlie Simmer and host Roger Millions. HOCKEY CENTRAL will preview every game with a half-hour pre-game show, and will also provide intermission and post-game analysis.
Highlights from Sportsnet’s Calgary Flames television broadcast schedule include:
- Eleven all-Canadian matchups, including games versus Vancouver, Winnipeg, Montreal, Edmonton and Toronto
- The Flames take on the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks in the Windy City on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 5:30 PM MT
- The Flames visit former captain Jarome Iginla and the Boston Bruins on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 5 PM MT
- Eight games versus five Original Six teams, including Boston, Montreal, Toronto, New York Rangers and Detroit
Already the home for Flames listeners, Sportsnet 960 The FAN will also broadcast all 82 regular season and pre-season Calgary Flames games in the 2013-14 season as part of their new exclusive, seven-year agreement running through 2020.
