Glencross Invitational Charity Roughstock Event set for Aug. 23

CALGARY, AB -- The second annual Glencross Invitational Charity Roughstock Event is set to take place on Aug. 23, 2013 in Innisfail, AB.

The rodeo event, which is presented by PennWest Energy and the Calgary Flames, will take place at the Daines Rodeo Grounds. The gates will open at 5:00 PM MST and events, which includes bull, bronc and bareback riding with some of North America’s most accomplished riders, will begin at 6:00 PM MST.

All proceeds will be directed to the Ronald McDonald House in Red Deer and minor hockey programming in Alberta.

Following the rodeo events, entertainment from country artists will take place in the concert gardens.

Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster and the Burnt Lake Auction Mart in Red Deer.

The Flames Foundation for Life is the charitable arm of the Calgary Flames Hockey club. The Foundation is committed to supporting Education, Health and Medical Research, and Amateur and Grassroots Sports and raises funds throughout the year for these key areas.

Fundraising initiatives include 50/50 draws at Flames Games, contests and special events such as the Flames Ambassadors Celebrity Poker Tournament.

Proceeds from fundraising are directed to many charities in Southern Alberta. From families facing the terminal illness of a child to student athletes, with your support, we are creating positive change and touching the lives of thousands.
