KENNY AGOSTINO - LEFT WING

Acquired in the Jarome Iginla trade in March, Agostino will be making his first appearance at the Flames annual development camp. The 21 year-old is coming off a career-year at Yale where he registered 17 goals and 41 points through 37 games and helped the Bulldogs capture their first NCAA Championship. His offensive prowess will be on display this week but fans should pay attention to little details of Agostino's game; he is one of the most tenacious puck battlers I've seen at the NCAA level this season, is strong along the walls and is defensively responsible in his own zone.

Slotted in Group B, it would be intriguing to see him on a line with Emile Poirier (right wing) and Markus Granlund (centre).

MARK JANKOWSKI - CENTRE

Last summer, Jankowski made his Flames development camp debut and after a couple of days of adjusting to playing with and against a higher level of competition, the pivot looked right at home amongst his fellow prospects. While he was originally slated to play for Dubuque (USHL) in the 2012-13 season, he opted to go to Providence College where he finished fourth in team scoring with 7 goals and 18 points in 34 games. Head coach Nate Leaman lauded the 18 year-old's work ethic and noted he was generating several quality scoring chances each game. Given the great strides he made in his overall development this past season, it's fair to guess he'll be bringing a more polished game to this year's camp.

Last year, the Flames had Jankowski and Sven Baertschi playing alongside each other on more than one occasion so don't be surprised if the two are once again placed on a line together in Group B.

JON GILLIES - GOALTENDER

As a freshman in the 2012-13 campaign, Gillies was anointed the Friars starting netminder and quickly became the backbone of the squad. The South Portland, ME product was in net for all 17 of Providence's victories, was second in all of Hockey East with a 2.08 GAA and a .931 save percentage, and posted 5 shutouts over the course of the season. Among his numerous awards last year, Gillies was named Hockey East's Rookie of the Year, the HCA National Division I Rookie of the Year, and the College Hockey News Rookie of the Year.

Gillies has been placed in Group A this year. Reto Berra and Brody Hoffman, attending camp on a try-out agreement, are the other netminders in the group.

MATT DeBLOUW - CENTRE

The Flames seventh round pick in the 2012 NHL Draft had an excellent 2012-13 season at Michigan State University, leading the team's freshman class and sitting third overall in team scoring with 10 goals and 21 points through 42 games. His offensive numbers dipped a bit mid-way through the season but he got back in the swing of things at the tail-end of the season, scoring a game-winner in Game 1 of Spartans CCHA First-Round series against Alaska and in Game 1 of the CCHA Quarter-Finals against Miami.

DeBlouw has been placed in Group A this week.

BRETT KULAK - DEFENCE

Kulak's play last year was overshadowed by Vancouver's disappointing season but fans should get used to hearing the rearguard's name as he has the potential to make quite the impact on the organization. He isn't flashy but given his style of play, he isn't the type of defenceman you want to notice on the ice. He goes about the game in simple, poised manner, making good decisions with and without the puck. He is responsible in his own zone, is an excellent skater and has great positioning. His solid play with the Giants landed him an amateur try-out contract with the Abbotsford Heat at the tail-end of the 2012-13 season, where he suited up for four games.

Kulak is in Group B at development camp.
