Wayne Simmonds opened the scoring early in the opening frame while the Canadians were on the power but Czech forward Petr Koukal responded with an even-strength marker at 17:03 of the first period. The teams remained deadlocked at one until Jeff Skinner was able to beat netminder Ondrej Pavelec at 6:55 of the third period.
Brodie had 5:04 of ice time (2:23, 1:00, 1:41) in the game and was a minus-one. Hudler put four shots on net in his 17:18 of ice time.
Canada's last game in the preliminary round goes Monday as they face Slovenia. The Czech Republic will play Norway on Tuesday.
Chris Butler and the USA blanked Germany 3-0 on Sunday. Bobby Butler, Stephen Gionta and Paul Stastny found the back of the net while goaltender John Gibson made 30 saves. C. Butler had 15:12 of ice time in 19 shifts and threw one shot on net in the victory.
The Americans next game comes on Tuesday when they take on Slovakia.
Reto Berra, who was named the Swiss Player of the Game on Saturday in Switzerland's 4-1 win over Denmark, backed up Martin Gerber on Sunday morning. Switzerland picked up their sixth win with a 3-1 victory over Norway and remain undefeated at the tournament. Simon Moser, Roman Josi and Patrick von Gunten scored for Switzerland while Ole-Kristian Tollefsen notched Norway's lone marker.
Switzerland's next game is on Tuesday when they play Belarus.
