Thursday, May 9 - 3:50 PM - Team Roughnecks announce the signing of Chris Snow. - Kevin Gross

General Manager Kevin Gross comments, ”We don’t know where we’re going to play him or how much ice time he’ll get or if he’s actually played hockey before, but his facebook page said he likes to have a good time, so he’s the right fit for our team.  Welcome Chris!"

Snow spent four seasons as Director of Hockey Operations for the Minnesota Wild. His responsibilities included analyzing team rosters and cap commitments for the purpose of strategic roster planning, preparing for contract negotiations and arbitration, assisting in day-to-day hockey administration and CBA interpretation, and coordinating the team’s summer development camp. Prior to entering the hockey business, Snow was a staff writer for the Boston Globe, where he worked as the Boston Red Sox beat writer. A graduate of Syracuse University, he has also worked for the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Thursday, May 9 - 2:59 PM - Team Hitmen sign Brent Kisio - John Bean

Co-GM’s Kennedy and Bean are pleased to announce that former NCAA star and current Associate Coach of the Calgary Hitmen hockey team, Brent Kisio, has agreed to sign a three year contract to play with Team Hitmen in the upcoming Calgary Sports and Entertainment Hockey Championship. “A strong and highly skilled player who is not afraid to mix it up in the front of the net, Brent will be a great addition to our team” noted Kennedy. “The departure of Kelso freed up a significant amount of room on our cap and allowed us to sign Brent” stated Bean.

Thursday, May 9 - 12:59 PM - Team Flames add Hockey Operations staff; sign Ken King to PTO - Torie Peterson

Team Flames announced today the addition of several hockey operations members:

Torie Peterson: Co-General Manager, Assistant Coach, Red Bull Specialist
Sean O'Brien: Head Coach, Semi-Ginger
Colleen Little: Director of Hockey Operations
Kimberly Colonna: Assistant Director of Hockey Operations
Alanna Minchau: Director of Hockey Administration
Joanna French: Director of Video Analysis
Adam Zimmer: Director of In-Game Entertainment (Music)
Kristen Beyak: Hydration Specialist

"I'm honoured – but not overly surprised – that Jason asked me to join him as a co-general manager of Team Flames," Peterson said. "As the digital media producer, I'm known for my unparalleled enthusiasm, intelligence and work ethic and I plan on bringing that to Team Flames as we make our bid for the CSEG Cup.

"I'm also looking forward to watching Team Roughnecks defenceman Mike Board get danced by some of our elite forwards like Jason Johnson, Craig Conroy and Bob Hartley. Brent Gibbs is another pylon of a blueliner I can't wait to see him turned around by our quick-transition crew."

The team is in the middle of contract negotiations with several individuals for the remaining openings.

Team Flames also announced the signing of Ken King to a PTO. The veteran forward will be a game-time decision as he is questionable due to knee and hip maladies.

"The potential to add a strong, in-your-face forward to the mix was too tempting to pass up," Peterson said. "His ability to wreak havoc in front of the net and cause chaos in the crease are second to none amongst CSEG Cup players and we're extremely pleased to have him on our side."

As per club policy, terms of the deal will not be released.
