Flames receive sixth overall pick at 2013 NHL Draft

CALGARY, AB -- After the completion of the 2013 NHL Draft Lottery, it has been determined the Calgary Flames will have the sixth overall selection in the 2013 NHL Draft.

The Flames retained the sixth pick in the lottery. The only teams that had their picks shifted as a result of the lottery were the Florida Panthers and the Colorado Avalanche. The Panthers finished 30th overall and had a 25% chance of winning the lottery. The Avalanche finished 29th overall and had a 18.8% chance of winning. The Avs won the lottery, giving them the first overall pick while the Panthers will select second.

The NHL Draft will be held on June 30 at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.
