Gaudreau, Arnold help Boston College claim fourth consecutive Beanpot title
BOSTON, MA -- Calgary Flames prospects Johnny Gaudreau and Bill Arnold both had multi-point outings for Boston College in the Eagles 6-3 win over Northeastern to capture the 2013 Beanpot title on Monday night.
Gaudreau scored twice in the victory and assisted on Pat Mullane's empty-netter late in the game. He also led the game in shots on net with seven. Arnold opened the scoring at 10:53 in the second period and assisted on Steven Whitney's game-winning tally.
The Eagles have won 18 Beanpot Championships and yesterday's victory is Boston College's fourth consecutive title. The squad is now 73-49 in the Beanpot.
Gaudreau is Hockey East's leading scorer with 15 goals and 36 points through 23 games this year. He recently captured gold with the USA at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship and was the leading goal scorer in the tournament with seven markers to his name. The winger was Calgary's fourth round pick in the 2011 NHL Draft.
Arnold, who is a junior at Boston College, has recorded 11 goals and 23 points in 25 games. The Flames selected the Boston, MA product in the fourth round of the 2010 NHL Draft.
