2013 WJC Blog: Finland vs. Czech Republic - 28.12.12
After three offensively dominant showings in exhibition games and their tournament-opener, Finland was shut down in their second game at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship.
The Czech Republic picked up a 3-1 win over the Finns despite being outshot 30-21. Tomas Hyka and Marek Hrbas beat Finnish netminder Joonas Korpisalo while Dmitrij Jaskin added an empty-netter at 19:56.
The Finns lone goal came from Teuvo Teräväinen in the second period. His weak shot managed to trickle through Patrik Bartosak's legs to earn his first point of the tournament.
It was Finland's first game without forward Miro Aaltonen, who broke his ankle in the squad's 5-1 win over Latvia on Wednesday.
Calgary Flames prospect Markus Granlund was pointless in the loss with three shots on net. He won four of his 12 draws.
