Granlund named to Finland\'s preliminary World Junior Championship roster

CALGARY, AB -- On Monday morning, Finland announced Calgary Flames prospect Markus Granlund has been named to their preliminary roster for the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship.

Granlund played for his country in the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship, posting 7 points (2 goals, 5 assists) in 7 games. He also played for Finland in 2009 and 2010 IIHF U18 World Championship tournaments.

The Oulu, Finland native is currently in his second season with HIFK Helsinki of SM-liiga. In 25 games this year, Granlund has 4 goals and 12 points with a plus-one rating. He accrued 15 goals and 34 points in 47 games with HIFK in the 2011-12 season.

The Flames selected Granlund in the second round (45th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
