CALGARY, AB – Join the Calgary Flames, Scotiabank and the Canadian Women’s Hockey League for an exciting hockey night out to watch Team Alberta face off against the Toronto Furies at Winsport on Saturday, December 1st at 7:45pm. Admission is FREE as the Flames and Leafs rivalry takes on a new dimension in the CWHL.

Earlier this month both the Flames and the Toronto Maple Leafs announced a partnership introducing them as major supporters of the respective CWHL teams in their cities. This weekend will be the first opportunity for Calgary hockey fans to come out and support the newest members of the Flames family and witness this new rivalry ignite.

“We’re excited to have some of the best female hockey players in the world playing right here in Calgary this weekend,” said Flames President & CEO Ken King. “The Flames are proud supporters of the CWHL and we’d love to see Calgary hockey fans fill the building to cheer Team Alberta on to victory. It’s always a great atmosphere in the arena when Toronto plays Calgary and we expect the same emotion and intensity at WinSport this Saturday.”

While Team Alberta and the Furies will provide the on-ice entertainment, the Flames and Scotiabank will be bringing all elements from their NHL game night entertainment package to WinSport. As well, fans will have the chance to win great prizes, participate in intermission contests and get autographs from Canadian Olympian Cassie Campbell and Flames assistant coach Martin Gelinas. The autograph session begins at 6:45pm.

The two teams feature former Olympians Meaghan Mikkelson on Team Alberta and Tessa Bonhomme and Sami Jo Small playing with the Toronto Furies.
