TORONTO, ON -- The Abbotsford Heat saw their seven-game point streak snapped with a 5-0 loss to the Toronto Marlies at Ricoh Coliseum on Sunday afternoon. Despite the loss, Abbotsford (10-2-1-2) remains in top spot in the North Division with 23 points.

Ryan Hamilton and Nazem Kadri each scored even strength goals in the first 40 minutes to put the Marlies up by two entering the third period. In the final period, the Marlies added three more goals by Nicholas Deschamps, Matt Frattin and Will Acton.

Leland Irving started for the second straight game, and had 19 saves on 24 shots. Ben Scrivens stopped all 24 Heat shots to earn the shutout. The Heat had not been shutout this season prior to Sunday’s contest.

The Heat power play finished without a goal on six opportunities, while the Marlies scored on one of their two man-advantages.
