CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames and the Flames Foundation for Life are proud to partner with CTRL – F, Calgary-Teamwork-Respect-Leadership-Fun, Hockey Camp taking place this weekend, Saturday, August 25th and Sunday, August 26th at the SAIT Campus.

The hockey camp created and coordinated by Sportsnet’s Rob Kerr will be hosted for youth from the Flames EvenStrength Program, and HEROS (Hockey Education Reaching Out Society). The two day camp will include on-ice instruction, classroom instruction, hockey presentations, sport activities and a big league experience game for players. Flames center Mikael Backlund will attend the camp on Sunday for a ceremonial puck-drop and to sign autographs for the students of the camp.

“I am extremely proud of how the hockey community in Calgary, and particularly my friends in the local sports media have come together to help give kids an elite hockey experience,” said Kerr.

Players will receive instruction and activities that they would regularly have the chance to access based on the principles of teamwork, leadership and respect in sport. Representatives from local media outlets will volunteer as instructors on both days.
