WHL Playoff Roundup: Michael Ferland
Brandon was eliminated in four games
Gritty forward Michael Ferland's time in the WHL came to a close this month when the Edmonton Oil Kings knocked them out of the playoffs but the Brandon product closed out the season in fine fashion. He posted points in his last two games of the year, giving him six points (three goals, three assists) in eight postseason appearances.
Ferland put together a career year in the regular season, scoring 47 goals and 96 points through 68 games. His previous career highs? 23 goals and 56 points in the 2010-11 campaign. His progression and dedication to improving his game earned him an entry level contract with the Flames, something he deemed "a dream come true."
The forward has now been assigned to the Abbotsford Heat to give him a taste of what he can expect next season.
