Jarome Iginla potted his team-leading 19th goal of the season in the victory while Miikka Kiprusoff played in his 527th game, a franchise record for most games played by a goaltender.
Olli Jokinen opened the scoring at 12:24 of the first period but he was only one who appeared to know his shot beat Crawford initially as the puck bounced back out of the net shortly after being shot in.
He skated back towards center ice with his arms raised, questioning the referee as to why the play hadn't been stopped. The play was reviewed and Jokinen was awarded his 13th goal of the season.
Their lead was short-lived as Brent Seabrook notched the equalizer late in the frame when he buried a Patrick Kane pass at the side of the net.
Michael Frolik decked Tom Kostopoulos in the face with his stick and drew blood at 16:36 of the second period. The referee handed him a double-minor for the infraction and the Flames made the Blackhawks pay while on the power play.
Blueliner Jay Bouwmeester parked himself in the high slot and was in perfect position to whack in a Blair Jones rebound. Mikael Backlund also assisted on Bouwmeester's fourth goal of the year.
Iginla have the Flames a two-goal cushion at 12:39 of the third period when he zoomed in on a breakaway, deked around Emery and deposited his 19th tally of the year. Alex Tanguay and Chris Butler assisted.
