CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames scoring woes continued on Tuesday as they fell 3-1 to the Detroit Red Wings.

Mike Cammalleri scored the Flames lone goal. Calgary has scored 55 goals within the confines of the Scotiabank Saddledome, the lowest total within the NHL when it comes to goals scored on home ice.

Cory Emmerton, Jiri Hudler and Drew Miller scored for the Red Wings while netminder Jimmy Howard made  saves.

Prior to the game, the Flames paid tribute to the late Brad McCrimmon.

The former Flames defenceman & assistant coach was was one of the 43 victims on board the Russian plane carrying the Kontinental Hockey League team Lokomotiv Yaroslavl that crashed on Sept. 7, 2011.

The Flames were down a forward during the last two periods after Lee Stempniak suffered a lower body injury near the end of the first frame. He only put in 4:42 of ice time in the game.

Detroit opened up the scoring at 5:57 of the first period when Emmerton was able to capitalize on a Justin Abdelkader rebound. The left winger snapped a hard shot on net and while Kiprusoff made a pad save, the ensuing rebound landed right Emmerton's stick.

Former Flame Todd Bertuzzi aided Calgary in getting on the board early in the second period when he steamrolled Chris Butler in the corner and was handed an interference minor.

Alex Tanguay put a shot on net from the slot and Mike Cammalleri fought for the loose puck in the blue paint, eventually backhanding it over Howard's glove for his 11th goal of the season. Olli Jokinen earned a helper on the power play marker along with Tanguay.

The Red Wings scored the go-ahead goal at 11:29 of the third period. Filppula put the puck off the side of the net and Jiri Hudler threw it past Kiprusoff and into the back of the net.

Miller added the insurance goal just over four minutes later.

STAT OF THE NIGHT
Flames captain Jarome Iginla led all players in shots on net with five. He also had three shots blocked by the Red Wings. Justin Abdelkader was one of the Detroit skaters who dropped to the ice to stop an Iginla shot and he paid dearly. Iginla's one-timer hit his leg and he hit the ice in a heap and stayed there for a few moments due to the painful sacrifice.
