The Predators were led offensively by Sergei Kostitsyn who potted a hat trick on Sunday night.
Flames forward Jarome Iginla scored his 499th career goal and Brendan Morrison notched his 200th tally in the loss.
The captain opened the scoring at 3:47 of the first period after a great passing play between his linemates Curtis Glencross and Olli Jokinen.
Nashvilled tied it up shortly after when Kevin Klein, returning after missing six games with the flu, sent a howitzer at Kiprusoff from the blueline.
The Predators pushed ahead at 15:06 when Kostitsyn batted a Mike Fisher pass into the back of the net whilst falling to the ice.
Calgary allowed two more goals in the second period with Kostitsyn adding his second of the game and Matt Halischuk scoring his ninth goal of the year.
Offensively, the Predators stifled their visitors in the second period. The Flames landed a mere four shots on Rinne while Nashville rifled 15 at Kiprusoff.
Rene Bourque made it a 4-2 game at 1:17 of the third frame when he took advantage of some sloppy defence right in front of the net. Lee Stempniak and Blake Comeau earned the helpers on the Flames second goal of the evening.
Morrison scored at 17:57 but Kostitsyn was able to notch an empty netter to complete the hat trick.
