VANCOUVER, BC -- The Calgary Flames continue to roll as they knocked off the Vancouver Canucks by a score of 3-1 on Friday night.

The Flames have now won three straight games and they can thank their top line of Curtis Glencross, Olli Jokinen and Jarome Iginla for their consistent offensive output.

Glencross scored his fifth goal in his last four games and pushed his five-game point streak to seven points.

Jokinen's late goal gives him points in seven straight. He is leading the team with 30 points in 36 games played this year.

The captain, while goal-less in his last two games, has been an absolute force and notched two assists in the victory.

Netminder Leland Irving started his second game of the season and collected his first NHL victory.

He stopped 29 shots and provided his club with several clutch saves in the last minutes of the game.

While the first frame was a scoreless affair, the Flames played a textbook road period.

They were hard on the puck, played a physical but disciplined game and rifled 13 shots at Roberto Luongo in comparison to the six the Canucks were able to put on net.

The Canucks pushed back a bit in the middle stanza but the Flames defence remained tight, limiting the home side to just seven shots on net while they had 11 hit Luongo.

The first penalty called in the game with just 1:55 remaining in the second period when Rene Bourque was nabbed for hooking. Calgary's penalty killers handled the League's best power play by consistently pressuring the Canucks and making sure they were moving their feet through the duration of the minor.

The deadlock was broken in the third period. Glencross was able to scoop up the puck in a scramble in front of Irving and rattled it down the boards. Iginla went flying after it, negating the icing call, and the captain was able snap it over to the front of the net from the boards.

No one was watching Glencross and the winger came in and slapped it past Luongo for his 14th goal of the season.

Mikael Backlund and Dan Hamhuis scored within three minutes of each other and it looked like the Canucks were making a comeback until Jokinen scored an empty-netter to seal the victory for the visitors.
