CALGARY, AB -- The Calgary Flames losing skid came to a screeching halt on Tuesday night as they defeated the Minnesota Wild by a score of 2-1.

Captain Jarome Iginla led his team with two points, eight shots on net and won all five of his draws.

Iginla now has points in four straight games and is leading the team in scoring with 13 goals to his name.

His linemate Olli Jokinen also added to his scoring straight, notching his seventh point in his last four games.

Curtis Glencross opened the scoring at 2:47 when took a beautiful pass from Iginla, deked around Harding and sent a slick backhand into the back of the net.

Defenceman Chris Butler also assisted on the marker.

It didn't take long for the Wild to respond. Matt Cullen won a draw deep in the Flames zone, Jared Spurgeon put a shot on net and Pierre-Marc Bouchard finished off the play by shoveling the puck past Kiprusoff.

The Flames pushed ahead at 6:02 of the second stanza thanks to an incredible individual effort by Iginla in front of Harding.

The captain muscled his way through Spurgeon and Marco Scandella and hammered the puck into the back of the net.

He is now just three goals shy of 500.

Derek Smith and Jokinen earned the helpers on the go-ahead tally.

The Wild had an excellent opportunity to draw even late in the game when Jokinen was nabbed for interference at 17:28 and slashing at 19:47 but the Flames penalty killers were air-tight, holding Minnesota off the scoresheet and carrying Calgary to victory.
