Our Three Stars: Flames vs. Oilers
Baertschi
1. Sven Baertschi

Baertschi led his team on the scoreboard, notching two goals against the Oilers. He created chances every time he stepped on the ice and made everyone around him better. In the middle of the second period, Baertschi was able to pick off the puck in the neutral zone and went steaming into towards netminder Adam Brown on a breakaway. The Edmonton goalie stopped the winger with his glove but Baertschi's read on the play in the middle of the ice and the ensuing speed was nothing short of impressive. He was by far the most dominant player on the ice.

Ortio
2. Joni Ortio

The 20 year-old preserved the win for his team, making several clutch saves in the last minutes of the game and looking solid throughout the entire tilt. The netminder has progressed so much over the course of the tournament and he looked much more comfortable on the North American size ice on Wednesday night. On Sunday, he had trouble with his angles and timing but those issues seem to be smoothed over after playing in three games. Overall, he made 20 saves in the victory.

Reinhart
3. Maxwell Reinhart

On a line with Baertschi and Patrick Holland for a second straight game, Reinhart was able set up his linemates for some excellent scoring chances thanks to his great on-ice vision. He read plays better than any other player on the ice and his two-way game was second to none. The pivot is coming off a great year with the Kootenay Ice and if his play in Penticton is any indication, he's going to be a player to watch in the 2011-12 season.
