Flames sign Leland Irving

CALGARY, AB – The Calgary Flames announced today the signing of goaltender Leland Irving.
"Leland Irving made great strides in his development last season and responded very well to the challenges we presented to him coming out of camp,” said Flames General Manager Jay Feaster. “We are pleased with the progress he continues to make, and we look forward to seeing him in camp this fall. He continues to be one of our top prospects, and at a critical position."
Irving, a native of Swan Hills, Alberta, played in 61 games last season for the Abbotsford Heat earning 30 wins which ranked second in the AHL, his eight shutouts led the league and his .913% save percentage was 10th amongst AHL goalies. Leland was also named as the Abbotsford Heat team MVP for the 2010-11 season.
Contract terms: one year, two way contract at $600,000.
