Granlund, Wotherspoon drafted in second round

The Flames add a forward & defenceman on day two of the NHL Entry Draft

ST. PAUL, MN -- The Calgary Flames have selected F Markus Granlund and D Tyler Wotherspoon in the second round of the NHL Entry Draft, 45th and 57th respectively.

Granlund is known for his vision and his strength on the power play. Scouts have praised his creativity with the puck, shot accuracy and ability to both act as a shooter or a set-up man. He played for HIFK Jr., posting 20 goals and 52 points through 40 games.

Blueliner Wotherspoon attributes his is steady presence on the ice. His calm persona has made him a very dependable player for Portland. The Surrey, B.C. native is a defensive defenceman who played 64 games last season. During that span, he had two goals and 10 assists, taking 73 PIM.
