Mikael Backlund Recalled from Abbotsford Heat

Calgary, AB – The Calgary Flames announced today that centre Mikael Backlund has been recalled from the Abbotsford Heat (AHL).

Backlund, a native of Vesteras, Sweden, appeared in one game with the Heat this season. He has played 32 games with the Flames this season recording four goals and four assists for eight points and 10 penalty minutes. Backlund was Calgary’s 1st round pick (24th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
