Women Build is an international movement that helps bring women together for a common purpose; to change the lives of families in their own communities. Women of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to volunteer in a non-traditional capacity – construction. It allows participants to learn new skills and trades so they can contribute to providing families safe homes in which to grow. Poverty ends at home with Women Build.

“A failure to address poverty and its impacts affects us all,” says Leslie Tamagi, President & CEO of Habitat for Humanity Calgary. “Poverty is putting an unbearable strain on healthcare, education and social systems. Through home ownership, Women Build helps break the cycle of poverty.”

The Flames Better Halves, players’ wives and girlfriends, are active participants in fundraising initiatives for the Flames charitable arm; the Flames Foundation for Life as well as volunteers with various International and local organizations such as the Ronald McDonald House, Alberta Children’s Hospital, Impact Society and Habitat for Humanity.
