Craig Conroy moved across the blue line and snapped a quick shot between the legs of a King's defender beating Steve Bernier who was partially screened on the play.
With the Flames down a man, speedy forward Curtis Glencross rushed the point to block a shot. He managed to get a piece of it and it landed on Brett Sutter's stick who smartly threw it up the ice to the streaking Glencross. He cut it towards the net and slid the puck just inside the far post to beat Bernier and give the Flames the 1-0 edge.
Curtis Glencross scored a huge short-handed goal in the second period breaking a scoreless tie. He was all over the ice hitting everything in sight and had several great scoring chances. He finished with a goal, a plus-2 rating, 5 shots and 15:58 of ice time.
Defenceman Robin Regehr played in his 750th career game on Sunday. He is now 43 games behind Theoren Fleury for third place in all-time games played with the Flames.
"He's still got the young legs. He's going around out there like a 20 year old. He's a good skater and that's a big asset for him." - Glencross on Conroy's play against the Kings.
