The Game Rush: Flames vs. Lightning

Thanks to Steve Stamkos' last minute heroics that tied the game for his club, the game went to overtime and netminder Matt Keetley had to sharp to keep the Flames alive. The rookie made a dazzling pad save off of Vincent Lecavalier - Martin St. Louis two-on-one, robbing the snipers of a winning tally.

T.J. Brodie wanted to make his debut at the Saddledome a special one and he was able to do that with a great heads-up play that got his team on the scoreboard. Giordano blasted a shot from the blueline and Brodie was in the perfect spot to snap up the rebound and put it past Cedrick Desjardins.

T.J. Brodie said he was lucky to be in Calgary after the Flames made their first major cuts of training camp and stated he wanted to continue his audition with a great game tonight. He delivered. The youngster scored two power play goals, contributed greatly on during even strength shifts and played  on the penalty kill and showcased his ever-developing talent throughout the entire game.

While Giordano is the player best known for his teeth-rattling hits but Cory Sarich lead his club in that category on Saturday night with six. Sarich had 21:23 of ice time and had 34 shifts.

"I don't look at the back of their jersey. For me, I've got to play like it's a normal guy." - Keetley on how he viewed facing off against stars like Simon Gagne and Lecavalier.
