“Jarome has been such a tremendous supporter of both KidSport Calgary and KidSport Canada for the past nine seasons and the humility and graciousness with which he’s supported the charitable organization over the years is a testament to his true character,” said Diane Jones Konihowski, KidSport Alberta’s Chair. “With each goal he’s scored – and there have been a lot – his commitment to get kids off the sidelines and into sport continues to grow. Thank-you Jarome, you’ve helped over 2,500 kids and have inspired many more.”
Iginla’s contribution has helped over 2,500 kids get involved in amateur and recreational sport activities. The success of the program has established Iginla as an important and valued partner who not only contributes financially but acts as a role model for the importance of sport to a child’s early development and sense of belonging.
KidSport™ Calgary is a local, non-profit organization that is focused on providing positive sport opportunities to children from low-income families. With the help of community supporters, KidSport™ is able to assist local kids by subsidizing sport registration fees and certain sport equipment for qualified applicants, so kids can play their chosen sport safely and confidently.
