FLAMES FAVOURITE FOODS
I’m an Alberta boy so I’ll have to stick with my Alberta beef. In the summer I can’t stand chicken or pasta because we eat it so much during the season.
My favourite food is probably steak, least favourite is porridge.
I’d have to say my favourite food is steak and least favourite would have to be…I’m not a very big seafood guy, so I’d have to say salmon or something like that.
I just like everything. I’m a big salmon fan, wild salmon though, and wild cod. There’s not much I don’t like out there.
My favourite food is sushi. I love it! I hated it at first, but now I absolutely love it. (Thinks a while about his least favourite) Sometimes I’m not the greatest fan of lasagne.
My favourite food is steak for sure. Least favourite is beets.
FLAMES FAVOURITE BANDS
I’m a big country music fan. It would be tough to say, probably one of the legends like George Strait.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. I’ve been to maybe eight of their concerts and I really like them, especially live, they’re unbelievable. I’ve seen them in Sweden
The Gaslight Anthem. They’re from Boston. They’re a small rock band and they’re my favourite right now.
Right now I’d probably say The Highwaymen. I like that old, classic country music. Their greatest hits album is really good. I’ve taken a liking to it.
Kings of Leon. I’ve been listening to them since I was back in college. Probably in 2003-04 was when I first started to hear them and I’ve been sticking with them ever since.
Wyclef Jean. I like his songs and his music.
U2. I don’t really have an explanation except that I love their music. I’ve seen them a few times in concert and they just keep getting better.
It switches all the time for me so I’ve got to think. Kiss is coming to town, so I’ll go with Kiss. I always loved them. They put on a great show. I like their music and just the whole atmosphere
with the makeup and Gene Simmons.
Shinedown. They’re a great rock band. I like their music and the lead singer’s vocals
Honestly, I don’t really have one. I turn on the radio and that’s it. I’m not a big music guy. I don’t think I bought my first CD (Guns N’ Roses) until 1995.
FLAMES FAVOURITE SPOTS FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY
I’d definitely take them up to Banff and Lake Louise. I was up there before the season started, and it’s just amazing out there. I love nature, so you can’t go wrong with that.
Hiking out towards Bragg Creek. I like going down there. I live down in that area, so it’s an easy 20 minutes to get out there.
The other day, we went to a place called Bears Den up in the northwest. That was really good. It was something different. They have all kinds of stuff like wild game including elk and bison. They have good steak too.
Westside Recreation Centre has swimming, skating and rock climbing. My kids enjoy doing all of that. There is a lot to do there. We go there quite often.
I like taking guests to Mercato. It’s just good steak, good Italian food and a good atmosphere. Sometimes when my family comes down, we head out to Banff for the day if we have the day off.
We go out to restaurants. We like to go for a night out at Nawab Indian restaurant. It’s our favourite. We go with the kids, and they like it. That’s our
go-to at least once every couple of weeks.
I like to take people to Banff. If we have a day off, I’ll take friends or family out to the mountains and tour around Banff and Lake Louise.
I like going somewhere for a nice dinner to relax. One of my favourite restaurants is Mercato. I really enjoy Alloy and Bears Den in the north.
Definitely The Japanese Village restaurant. I love going there. The food’s great. It is a good show, but their shrimp and steak are dynamite. The sauce is the best in town.
I haven’t seen much of Calgary yet, but I’d love to go up to Banff. I’ve heard so much about it. I’ve never been there. It sounds like everyone loves it. That’s probably where I’d take family and friends.
