FLAMES SIGN FORWARD DANIEL RYDER

Calgary, AB - Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter announced today the signing of prospect forward Dan Ryder. As per club policy, terms and conditions of the deal were not disclosed. Ryder is playing in his 4th season with the Peterborough Petes of the Ontario Hockey League. He is currently 5th in League scoring with 59 points (24 goals and 35 assists) in 29 games, only 8 points behind the leader. The native of Bonavista, Newfoundland & Labrador, was named Playoff MVP during the 2005-06 season as he led the Petes to the OHL championship and a berth in the Memorial Cup. In 225 career OHL games, the 5''11", 191 lbs center has recorded 111 goals and 164 assists for 275 points. Ryder was the Flames 4th round selection, 74th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
