Flames' prospect J.D. Watt wins 2007 Memorial Cup Championship

Calgary Flames goaltending prospect Matt Keetly and Gord Baldwin from the Medicine Hat Tigers led their team to the Championship Finals with a bye after shutting out the host team and WHL rival Vancouver Giants 1-0 in the last of the round robin games, but they could not beat the same team in the finals.

The 2007 Memorial Cup Championship went to the host team Vancouver Giants after a 3-1 victory over the 2007 WHL Champion Medicine Hat Tigers. Flames prospect J.D. Watt of the Vancouver Giants finished 8th in tournament in scoring registering four points (1+3), including setting up the overtime winner in the opening game of the tournament against the Plymouth Whalers.

The Calgary Flames prospect Dan Ryder with the Plymouth Whalers (OHL Champions), lost to the Vancouver Giants in the semi-finals finishing 3rd at the 2007 Memorial Cup.
