PrintCalgary, AB - Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter announced Saturday defencemen Mark Giordano has been assigned to the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights of the American Hockey League.

The Flames have two days off before resuming practice on Monday.
As the seventh defenceman in the line-up, Giordano doesn't dress every game and this is an opportunity for him to go to the minors, get some playing time and stay sharp.
