Ottawa, ON – The Calgary Flames selected seven players (five forwards and two defensemen) at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft in Ottawa, Ontario during the seven round selection process.

On Friday evening, the Flames selected centre Greg Nemisz from the Windsor Spitfires (OHL) in the first round with the 25^th overall pick. NHL Central Scouting lists Nemisz as a big player power-forward with good two-way ability and plays both the power-play and penalty kill.

Nemisz helped Team Canada capture the gold medal at the 2008 Under-18 World Championships, and was selected to participate in the 2008 CHL Top Prospects Game.
