Kelowna hands Hitmen 5-0 loss

KELOWNA, B.C. - Justin Bernhardt scored twice, and Kris Westblom made 28 saves for his first shutout of the season, as the Kelowna Rockets defeated the Calgary Hitmen 5-0 on Wednesday in Western Hockey League action.

Brady Leavold, Eric Bloodoff and Jamie Benn added singles for the Rockets, while Cody Almond, Colin Long and Brandon McMillan had two assists each.

Calgary goalie Martin Jones, undefeated heading into the game, was pulled to start the second after allowing four goals on 12 shots. Dan Spence made 20 saves in relief.

The win was Kelowna's third straight impressive outing after victories Vancouver and Seattle on Thanksgiving weekend.
